Changes For 2012
An estimated 7,000 people attended Kalamazoo Pride 2011, and we are taking steps to assure that Kalamazoo Pride 2012 is bigger and better than ever. More entertainment, both on-stage and on the ground. More food and drink options. More activities for families and youth. It’s going to be huge!
Pride is a Fundraiser
All proceeds from Kalamazoo Pride go to the Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center. With the funds we raised at Kalamazoo Pride 2011, we were able to accomplish (or begin) the following at the KGLRC: Establish an equality-friendly business directory, expand youth programming and continue to focus on inclusiveness.

2012 Kalamazoo Pride Entertainment Line-Up
Funktion (2 to 4 p.m.)
Kalamazoo-based R&B band Funktion showcases all aspects of funk: silky smooth R&B, cool island dub rhythms, rowdy hip-hop or the unhinged, guitar-fueled fireball of funk.

Neon Tetras (5 to 6:45 p.m.)
The Neon Tetras are the acoustic-soul gestalt of guitarist Nicholas Martin, singer Nathan Moore, percussionist Gerren Young, and bassist Adisah Mathieson. Their sound has been described as neo-soul with subtle elements of blues, folk, and rock added for good measure.

Executive Director Welcome and Introductions (6:45 to 7 p.m.)
Pandora Boxx (7:30 to 9 p.m.)
An American drag queen, best known as a former contestant on the second season of Drag Race, Boxx's humorous and campy style, he was seen by many in the media who were monitoring the show's progress as a strong candidate to win the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar”.

Kimi Hayes (9 to 10:50)
The Kimi Hayes Band play an exciting blend of current and classic rock, and loads of crowd-pleasing favorites from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Kimi Hayes and her band have opened for Sugarland, Willie Nelson, Gavin DeGraw, The Neville Brothers, The BoDeans, Sarah Evans, Lucinda Williams, Jodee Messina, Blues Traveler, and many more.
