KALAMAZOO—Two-day passes for Kalamazoo Pride 2014 are available at several businesses in the Kalamazoo area and online.
Only available in advance, the discounted weekend pass can be purchased for $10 at the following locations:
- Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center, 629 Pioneer Street, Suite 102
- Cupcake Zoo, 117 E. South St
- WMU Office of LBGT Student Services, 1321 Trimpe Building
- Sticks & Stones, 124 S. Kalamazoo Mall
- Cakes Boutique, 245 S. Kalamazoo Mall
Kalamazoo Pride 2014 is June 13 and 14 at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place in downtown Kalamazoo. Individual day tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the gate.
A limited number of VIP passes are also available. For $50, VIPs will receive the two-day admission pass, a VIP-only line at the beverage tent, access to the VIP hospitality tent, one drink voucher and a souvenir cup. The VIP pass can only be purchased online at http://kglrc.org/pride/shop.
“This is the inaugural year for the VIP pass,” shares Christopher Terkos, a member of the Kalamazoo Pride Steering Committee. “We look for ways to improve the event each year, and we’re excited to offer special perks and increase our fundraising capacity.”
All two-day and VIP passes provide chances to win hourly raffles throughout the weekend.
The event features 14 hours of entertainment, including the following artists:Lady Bunny, ‘Miss or Mister Kalamazoo Pride 2014,’ DJ Matt Downey, DÉJÀ VU BAND, Manila Luzon, Carrie McFerrin, The Crane Wives, Niki Harris and ABBA SALUTE.
Saturday also features family-friendly activities in the youth tent, as well as local artisans and affirming businesses in Vendor Alley, a wide variety of food options, and interactive performances throughout the day by The Chicago Cheer Brigade.
