Youth

The Resource Center Youth Group helps young people, ages 13 to 20, who are trying to come to terms with their sexuality in a sometimes unaccepting society.

Friendship, acceptance, and access to accurate information and potential resources can be of immense help to a young person. We seek to provide such help through information, referral, sharing, and regular get-togethers.

Our Youth Group meetings are an opportunity to meet and share with other gay, lesbian, bisexual, questioning, or allied teens in a safe environment. We strive to provide activities which meet the needs and interests of everyone involved in the group.

We provide..

  • A place to have fun and meet people
  • A place where your individuality and suggestions are respected
  • An environment where you can feel safe and can discuss anything in confidence
  • A place for support, education, social activities and outreach.

Our facilitators are trained adults who provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can come together to learn and share in an atmosphere of acceptance. They are people who have been in the same place as you. All facilitators are LGBT or Allied adults who are over the age of 25 and have been subject to a Michigan background check. If you would like to volunteer as a facilitator, please contact Alison at 269.349.4234 or email her.

Meetings are held weekly on Thursday from 7 to 9pm. The location is kept confidential - in order to find out the location, please call or email the Resource Center.
