Mission
The James B. Knox Resource Library, a component of the Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center, supports the mission of The Center by collecting, preserving, and making available to the public a variety of media that promote knowledge and understanding of bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender issues.
Fulfilling the Mission of the James B. Knox Resource Library
There are at least two dimensions to this mission: on the one hand, we seek to collect and preserve materials for the information and entertainment of members of the LGBT community; on the other hand, we seek materials that can be used to inform those other than ourselves of what it is like to be bisexual, gay, lesbian or transgender in this place at this time. The collection consists primarily of books, but a growing number of CDs, DVDs and videocassettes are also available.
To view our extensive collection of LGBT literature, nonfiction, video, and magazine archives, go to Library Thing.
Feel free to visit our library in person, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Special arrangements may be made if you are unable to visit during the posted hours. Call us to schedule a time 269.349.4234.
