Our Mission:

The James B. Knox Resource Library, a component of the Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center, supports the mission of the Center by collecting, preserving, and making available to the public a variety of media that promote knowledge and understanding of bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender issues.

Fulfilling the Mission of the James B. Knox Resource Library:

There are at least two dimensions to this mission: on the one hand, we seek to collect and preserve materials for the information and entertainment of members of the glbt community; on the other hand, we seek materials that can be used to inform those other than ourselves of what it is like to be bisexual, or gay, or lesbian, or transgender in this place at this time. The collection consists primarily of books, but also available are a growing number of CDs, DVDs, and videocassettes.
